When it comes to a unique shopping experience, West Perth is right on the doorstep of Subiaco, WA's most sophisticated shopping and entertainment district and just minutes from the Perth CBD and vibrant Northbridge. West Perth is the seat of Government and the professional centre of Perth. There are many doctors, lawyers, dentists, and consultants operating in the area. Some of the attractions include Parliament House and the Old Observatory. But the main highlight in West Perth is Kings Park. Set on high grounds, Kings Park is a free 5-minute bus ride on the CAT bus from Perth. Encompassing over 400 hectares, of which more than two-thirds is natural bushland, it gives sweeping views of the City, the south bank of the Swan River, Melville Water (an inland sailing paradise) and the hill escarpment that surrounds Perth. It has sculptured gardens, a restaurant, BBQ areas and playgrounds over its many hectares of regional virgin bushland which are carefully guarded in its original state giving the visitor a very vivid and natural feeling of flora and fauna.
