Suburb Profile - Langford

Distance to CBD: 17km

This name was submitted by the Shire of Gosnells in September 1966, having been chosen in collaboration with the State Housing Commission. The shire stated that Mr Langford was one of the oldest councillors on the road board - probably since 1925 - but had now retired and was a very old man. The name was approved in January 1967.

Situated 17km from the Perth CBD, Langford is a suburb located close to Carousel Shopping Centre, Cannington, Thornlie train station and multiple eateries.

The suburb is home to a number of schools; St Judes Catholic School, Brookman P.S. and Langford Islamic College.

Compared to other surrounding suburbs, Langford is an underrated suburb, which is great for investors, first home buyers and families, as it is still affordable and yet has the convenience of amenities within minutes. Historically, values stayed down due to the number of state housing homes but as these have been sold off to private owners, the area has gained more interest and with a number of major highways connecting the area , the suburb has proven consistent growth over the years as property owners realise the benefits of the area.
